"Bien-Etre Animal - Tome I"
The Prince Laurent Foundation wishes, in accordance with its by-laws, to supply high-quality scientific information.
At the occasion of its fifth anniversary, the FOUNDATION has published in september 2001 "Le Bien-Etre Animal", the first copy of "The Publications of the FOUNDATION". The authors Professor Jean-Marie Giffroy and Dr. Joseph-Paul Beaufays wish to clarify the relation between man and animal, as well as the concept of animal welfare (i.a. the concepts of suffering, pain and stress), and wish to describe the evolution of the scientific way of thinking and of the legislation and the scientific perception in this field.
At a later stage a second essay will be published and will deal with the quantitative, objective and measurable study of animal welfare.
